PD and Stipend Opportunity for GCOE Faculty

In the CTL September Update Letter, faculty were invited to take advantage of the UDL Post Secondary Education training offered by CAST.org. (See details about this learning opportunity at this link.)

Because we feel that Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a critical component of creating more equitable and inclusive pedagogy, both in virtual and face-to-face learning environments, the CTL will provide a $250.00 stipend for faculty who:

(1) successfully complete this virtual 8-week course that runs from September 26-November 18. (CTL will pay for the registration cost of $750.00)

(2) implement a change in practice by incorporporating one or more of the UDl Principles into their Fall 2022 or Spring 2023 course (e.g., new or significantly revised assignment)

(3) no later than April 30, 2023, submit a 3-5-minute video describing (a) their original course design/teaching, (b) the change that was implemented based on the UDL principle(s), and (c) the insights that occurred as a result of the experience.

Those who are eligible for this initiative are tenure/tenure track instructors, full-time instructors and instructors who are members of the bargaining unit who are able to implement a change in practice in Fall 2022 or Spring 2023.

If you are interested in taking part in this initiative, please contact the CTL@neiu.edu no later than Friday September 9th.

Faculty who complete the training also receive the UDL Post Secondary Credential from CAST.org
