Niles West AVID is looking for college students and recent college grads to work as tutors with the Niles West AVID program. We are hoping you can help get the word out. The hours are 8:00AM - 2:00PM, Tuesday and Thursday. The pay is $15/hour. The position is also posted on Handshake.
The AVID tutor takes an active part in developing the academic and personal strength of AVID students by:
Facilitating Socratic study groups twice a week
Coaching students in organization and time-management skills
Serving as a role model/mentor to AVID students
Past AVID tutors have majored in education, science, public administration, computer programming, and math. The most important characteristic is a desire to work with students. Please share the attached flyer and encourage college students you know to apply.
