All faculty are invited to join in on welcoming our new students at Golden Eagle Welcome Day, to be held Friday, Aug. 19, on the Main Campus. This annual event provides a warm Northeastern welcome to our new first-year and transfer students.
Faculty and staff often express their desire to become more involved in the recruitment and retention of our students. Retention is improved when faculty and staff build relationships with students early in their academic careers, and this event provides the perfect opportunity to do so.
For our new undergraduate students, we will host a pinning ceremony on the Auditorium stage, followed by PLAYFAIR activities and information tables to better acquaint them with all that the University has to offer.
Faculty and staff are needed to line the welcome gauntlet, sit on the stage for the ceremony. Departments are welcome to have an information table at the Student Organization and Resource Fair that will take place from 4pm - 5:30 outside the PE Complex.
We ask that all faculty and staff wear the “Welcome Golden Eagles” T-shirt for this event. You may order the “Welcome Golden Eagles” T-shirt on the following link if you don’t already have one.
